2025–2026

Challenge

Ask Dr. Mia is a renewed podcast supporting dementia caregivers with expert guidance, practical advice and emotional companionship.

The existing artwork communicated expertise but lacked the warmth and human connection at the heart of the show. The challenge was to develop a distinctive identity that balanced medical credibility with empathy, moving beyond generic podcast conventions and sterile visuals.

Strategy

I researched the existing identity, audience needs and competitive landscape to identify an opportunity to bring together medical expertise and lived experience. Dr. Mia’s background as a geriatrician and dementia specialist, combined with her experience as a former caregiver, offered a strong foundation for the brand.

I translated this insight into a strategic direction that positioned Ask Dr. Mia as a trusted digital space where caregivers could find reliable information, practical advice and emotional support — helping them feel informed, understood and less alone.

Brand

I developed a visual identity built around a bright yellow and deep navy palette, balancing optimism and reassurance with trust and expertise. Clean, modern typography keeps the brand accessible, while textured graphic elements bring energy and create a distinctive visual language.

Every design decision supports the same goal: making the brand feel professional without being clinical, and warm without losing credibility.

Podcast Identity

I applied the visual system across the podcast cover, episode thumbnails and social media templates, creating a consistent identity that adapts to different formats and content needs.

Bold typography, contrasting colours, photographic portraits and textured graphic elements make episode topics easy to recognise. I also developed flexible social media layouts for educational content, caregiving advice and community engagement, extending the brand beyond the podcast itself.

Outcome

The project brought the podcast and its supporting content together under one cohesive visual identity. By translating the brand strategy into a recognisable and adaptable design system, I helped Ask Dr. Mia communicate its expertise while better reflecting the human side of dementia caregiving.
